Situation Sparkle

So I feel like a terrible person.  I was supposed to do a review about a beautiful sparkle browband I got a year ago!  It came with three interchangeable strands of pink bling.  Shortly after receiving them I decided to sell Diva and felt generally sad and not in the mood to sort through all the pictures of her wearing it.
Pink that glows!
Then life got busy and I continued to collect pictures of all the strands on all the horses.  Well here we are a year later and I'm finally writing the review.  This is a Dark Jewel browband, and first of all let me say, GO. GET. ONE!  This came as a listing on her Etsy site and the strands were already made, and she completely reworked two of them for me!
The one strand we left the same
The options can be a bit overwhelming, but you know you are getting exactly what you want when it is all said and done.  I've done beading myself, but I tried hard to just let Amelia do her thing considering I've never seen a strand I didn't like.  (Go like Dark Jewel Designs Browbands on facebook) I did ask for one strand that incorporated black with the pink, because in the world of Redheadlins black and pink go with everything.  She totally delivered.
My favorite!
The arrived crazy fast in the mail and came beautifully packaged.
I still have child like glee popping bubble wrap

OMG the pink!
Already playing with swapping out the strands
The strands are so easy to change, all you need is a flat head screwdriver (or maybe a dime could even do the trick).  There is a large chicago screw on either end that you just undo, swap the strand, and redo.  Easy, attractive, and nothing to poke the horse.  The browband itself is padded and made of solid leather, even after a year of regular use it still looks new.
Pink cross country sparkles
The strands typically sit right in the groove on the browband, but sadly one of them is just a little long and droops out.  Amelia said to send it back and she would fix it right up no issues.  Except I suck at mailing things and still have it.  You know what though??? That means that now I can send it back and buy a cob browband and have her shrink the strand down to fit on Mr. Prisoner!  Also maybe order him some other colors!  Amelia is awesome, prompt in her response to messages and always friendly.  Also a wizard at sparkly combos!
Gigi wearing my first ever Dark Jewel browband (best bridesmaid gift ever, thank you Alyssa!)
The strands are very solid and I guess doing my review a year late means we know they last!  I've actually used Sprinklerbandit's Dark Jewel browband and strands extensively as well and none of them give the impression of ever wearing out or getting fragile, this stuff is made to last!  I also get comments on how beautiful they are.  Possible that the amount of pink is overwhelming to some, but they love the idea and look.  My barn owner ordered two and the lady that bought Gigi last fall ordered one.  Really, if you like sparkles you should have one of these browbands.
Miss my pretty girl
If your horse is on the small side of horse or cob definitely order the cob as they are generous in size, or at least mine is.  Mine is horse size and fits big heads, poor Prisoner swims in it, but he is tiny.  Just double check when ordering.
Beautiful on every horse
The best part??? They are crazy affordable!  Get this guys, you get the browband and TWO sparkle strands for $50.00, yes fifty you read that right!  If you choose to get extra fancy beads the price can go up, but seriously you get essentially two custom browbands for $50.00!  #canteven

Now for the most difficult part, choosing what colors P-Diddy needs!  I'm thinking a turquoise/blue one and a gold/champagne one!

C4 belts for the win

On cybermonday C4 belts ran an amazing deal that I couldn't pass up.  I ordered the light pink belt with a black chrome buckle and paid with PayPal.  I got a prompt response and it was waiting in the mail for me when I got back from Phoenix.
Hello beautiful
The packaging was slick and beautiful.  The colors matched the website.  It was love at first sight.

EEEEK so excited!
I immediately put on my breeches with the highest waist and adjusted the buckle to fit on the tightest hole.  My thinking was that then all my other pants would fit on the looser holes, I was right.
C4, FITS, Irideon, winning
It did take me a few days to actually cut the tail, commitment issues, what if I did something wrong!?  Finally I did and I haven't looked back.
Easy as pie with a pair of scissors
I even tested the airport claims, and yes I walked straight through.  Funny story, the security guard was like don't forget your belt, and I said this is new and supposed to be airport proof, can I walk on through?  He looked at me like I was insane and was like what did you say?  *thinking to myself, oh crap I'm going to the tiny room to get interrogated.  I repeated that the belt was supposed to fine in the airport as it has no metal and he let me go through.  At that point everyone was like what brand is it!?  I informed them that they come in every color and look at C4.  Nothing beeped and I was good to go, yay one less strip step when flying!!!!!
Of course I got pink
So I've been wearing it at least a few times a week and am still in love.  Works on jeans and breeches, keeps a great shape and doesn't get dirty.  My only issue was that in the last couple weeks I noticed the buckle starting to rub.
Hmmm
My guess was that it was an issue with the chrome look.  My thoughts here are that it is kind of my own fault, if I'm going to rock a plastic belt I shouldn't go for a metal look.  I decided to email the company to see if it was normal or is maybe it was a faulty lot.  I emailed on a Sunday afternoon, Monday morning I had a response.  Wow!  They said that yes I was right the other buckles don't rub, it is the film that makes it look like chrome that can indeed rub off.  Then they went above and beyond and offered a new buckle in any color free of charge!  I was way impressed.  So I ordered a blue one and it was here on Friday.  Less than a week from first email to replacement buckle in my hands.  Color me impressed
All the colors
Now I have two totally different looks, and a new favorite belt.  Great products, great customer service, and a great company that supports great causes.  Go get one today!

New Boots!

My mom (who is the best ever) gave me something I have been lusting after for years now.  Waterproof boots!  Luckily my tack store discount made them a pretty good deal.  After a few days of wearing them though I think they are totally worth full price, after they have survived the winter I will talk about them again.

They are the Ovation Alistair Country Boots.
Photo from Ovation Website
I ordered the 9.5 (41) and they fit perfect, I've worn them with breeches and over jeans and there is just enough room.  I have a 15 inch calf in most half chaps and such.  My feet have been toasty warm with wool socks and I love that I can do chores and stay dry!
Shut the front door
They may actually make me hate snow in November less.  The inside has cute plaid lining, granted no one knows it is there, but you.  Kind of like cute underwear.
All the cute!
The laces and buckles on the side make them pretty adjustable, they could tighten up maybe another half inch from where I wear them and loosen up about an inch.  Height wise they end just below the back of my knee (about a half inch).  I need 16 or 17 inch half chap.  You may be scratching your head about what I do for show boots...cry.  Yes I'm 5'3" with size 9.5 feet, let's just say that stock show boots are crazy tall on me.
Prisoner says stick a cookie on his tongue
I've pretty much worn them nonstop since I got them on Thursday and I haven't had one sore moment.  I don't think I will be wearing anything else until the end of spring, kidding, not really.
Happy!
Now if only they actually made me this awesome, thanks to sprinklerbandit for photo magic!
